Yamal-402 satellite capacity is used for delivering services to Ghana

Gazprom Space Systems signed a contract with Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT), a worldwide leader in satellite networking technology, solutions and services. In accordance with this contract Gilat Satellite Networks starts using satellite capacity of Yamal-402 Southern Beam.

This capacity is intended for providing satellite telecommunication services based on Gilat SkyEdge II-c technology in Sub-Sahara Africa.

At first stage Yamal-402 satellite capacity is used to implement broadband Internet connectivity in schools and will deliver services to mobile operators in rural areas of the Republic of Ghana.

«Southern Beam of Yamal-402 satellite has attractive technical performance and also wide footprints. We intend to continue to apply the capacity of this satellite for both the upgrade of this project and for other projects» — said Amir Carmeli, Regional Vice President EMEA and Eurasia at Gilat.
