REN TV channel performs test broadcasting on ASTRA 1F satellite

One more TV channel appeared on new TV platform of Gazprom Space Systems. On April 9 REN TV channel (double +2) has started test broadcasting via ASTRA 1F satellite operating at the 55°E orbital position.

One more TV channel appeared on new TV platform of Gazprom Space Systems. On April 9 REN TV channel (double +2) has started test broadcasting via ASTRA 1F satellite operating at the 55°E orbital position.

This is already the third channel in the package uplinked on ASTRA 1F from the new Telecommunication Center of Gazprom Space Systems located in Schelkovo of Moscow region. Recently on the basis of this TV platform Raz TV and NTV channels have started test broadcasting.

After the launch of Yamal-402 satellite, having significantly wider service zone, to the 55°E orbital position at the end of 2012 the broadcasting of the TV package formed by that time will be moved from ASTRA 1F to the new satellite.

TV Company REN TV has been using ground and space infrastructure of Gazprom Space Systems to broadcast its channels for already several years. Doubles (+4) and (+7) are broadcasting via Yamal-201 satellite at the 90°E orbital position and doubles (+0) and (+2) are broadcasting via Yamal-202 satellite at the 49°E orbital position.
