Annual Meeting of Gazprom Space Systems Shareholders Took Place

On the 28th of June annual meeting of Gazprom Space Systems shareholders took place. Dmitriy Sevastiyanov, Director General, made a presentation about Gazprom Space Systems’ activities in 2010. Vita Matskailo, Chief Accountant, presented an accounting statement for 2010.

Shareholders approved by a solid vote Gazprom Space Systems’ annual report and financial statement of the year 2010.

Proposals for allocation of profit based on the results of 2010, size, type and period of dividends payment were also approved.

The Board of Directors and Internal Audit Commission were elected. PRIMA-Audit was appointed as the accounting firm.

2010 results note

In 2010 company’s revenue amounted to 2 196 million rubles ($72.2 m), at that:

  • The revenue, earned from the satellite operator activity (satellite capacity and telecommunication services provision), amounted to 2 033.7 million rubles ($66.9 m),

  • The revenue, earned from the satellite and telecommunication systems construction, and from provision of geoinformational services amounted to 162.3 million rubles ($5.3 m),.

Despite that the first company’s satellite – Yamal-100 – was taken out of service in 2010, and current Yamal-201 and Yamal-202 satellites are fully loaded, the revenue coming from the satellite operator activity increased by 2 percent in 2010.

The number of TV channels on Yamal satellites reached 110 in 2010.

The company kept its positions on the international market: 28 percent of its income the company gets from foreign customers, and Yamal satellites capacity is used for providing services in 50 countries of the world.

Yamal-400 project started. Yamal-401 satellite is constructed in ISS Reshetnev Company in cooperation with Gazprom Space Systems and using the equipment, provided by Thales Alenia Space. Yamal-402 satellite will be produced at the facilities of the same company in Cannes. Satellites will be launched to the orbit by Proton-M vehicles.

For Yamal-400 project implementation the credits of Gazprombank were attracted. Also under the guarantee of Gazprom and with the participation of the French export credit agency COFACE the long-term credits were obtained in the international banks, such as: BNP Paribas, Citibank and Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank. According to the reputable British publisher Trade & Forfaiting Review the deal of attracting syndicated credits was recognized as one of the most significant last year events in the financial world.

The construction of two Yamal-400 satellites and launch vehicles began in May 2010.

In 2010 the production of Yamal-300K satellite was continued. Project restarted in 2009 has been implemented by ISS Reshetnev Company with the direct participation of Gazprom Space Systems. Also in 2010 an Agreement between Roscosmos, Gazprom Space Systems and ISS Reshetnev Company about Luch-5B and Yamal-300K satellites dual launch at the end of 2011 was signed.

In 2010 Gazprom Space Systems continued developing the ground infrastructure. On the territory of the Telecommunication Center (Schelkovo, Moscow region) a new Mission Control Center was built and put into operation. From August 2010 Yamal satellites orbital constellation has been operated from the new Center.
