Gazprom Space Systems at the IBC 2010 Show
IBC 2010 - the largest international exhibition and conference –– was held during September 10-14 in Amsterdam. Gazprom Space Systems has participated in the show for the 5th time. The main accent of its exposition was on the capabilities of the developing Yamal-300K, Yamal-401 and Yamal-402 satellites.
IBC 2010 - the largest international exhibition and conference –– was held during September 10-14 in Amsterdam. Gazprom Space Systems has participated in the show for the 5th time. The main accent of its exposition was on the capabilities of the developing Yamal-300K, Yamal-401 and Yamal-402 satellites.
The IBC exhibition is a significant annual event for the industry in the sphere of digital TV/radio broadcasting, development and provision of media content. This year more than 48 thousand people visited the show, that is 8.7% higher than in 2009.
Gazprom Space Systems consider this exhibition as the most important event, in which the company participates. The show is the most effective for developing the company’s business on the international market.
During this year participation in the exhibition, Gazprom Space Systems focused its efforts on the promotion of the new developing satellites. In 2011-2013 the company intends to increase its satellite capacity by 206 equivalent transponders (i.e. by four times) by launching to the orbit Yamal-300К, Yamal-401 and Yamal-402 satellites. Four beams of these satellites are dedicated to serve the international market. More capacity can be used both in Russia and abroad.
The company held a lot of meetings with the current and new potential customers and stated their considerable interest in the new satellites, which will have high power parameters and attractive coverage zones.
Much attention was given to support the current sales level of Gazprom Space Systems on the international market. The agreements to prolong the contracts with a number of the company’s current customers were reached. Such an agreement with the Italian company Milano Teleport was signed directly at the Gazprom Space Systems’ booth.
One more aspect of the Gazprom Space Systems’ delegation activity at the IBC 2010 was connected with the construction of its new Telecommunication Center in Schelkovo, Moscow region. This center, dedicated to the provision of satellite telecommunication services based on the capacity of the new satellites, should be furnished with the state-of-the-art equipment. That is why during the exhibition the company’s management and specialists spent much time to study the latest TV broadcasting and broadband access technologies and held a number of meetings with the representatives of leading equipment manufacturers.
