AfricaCom 2014: Gazprom Space Systems Expands its Presence in African Market

Africacom, the largest telecommunication exhibition in the African region, was held in Cape Town, South Africa on 11-13 November 2014.

Gazprom Space Systems participated in this event with its booth that represented Yamal-402 satellite capabilities to provide services in the African market. Good satellite performance and attractive coverage allow the customers to provide high-quality communication and broadcast satellite services in this area.

Gazprom Space Systems team had more than 30 meetings with African and European companies that actively do business in Africa. Among them there are satellite operators, teleports, broadcasters, Internet service providers, system integrators. Some of them are already Gazprom Space Systems customers (Telemedia, SatSpace, Globecomm, Onlime, Castor, GT&T, Bentley Walker) are satisfied with cooperation and intend to expand it. In particular, a new contract with IABG was concluded for the use of additional Yamal-402 satellite capacity for a corporate customer in South Africa. IABG, German company, is a well-known and reliable customer of Gazprom Space Systems and provides end users of high-quality telecommunication services at competitive price.

Apart from that, Gazprom Space Systems reached an agreements with a number of new customers to soonest start of providing Yamal-402 satellite capacity to them.
