Thousands of broadband terminals are on the way to end users

The next part of satellite broadband terminals was shipped to Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) for further delivery to its dealers and distribution networks.

In recent weeks, GSS has experienced a noticeable increase in the demand for satellite broadband among the population and legal entities.

The demand for Ka-band system services via Yamal-601 satellite dominates. VNOs cooperating with GSS have already purchased large batches of Ka-band end user terminals and launched promotion campaigns. In total, virtual operators purchased several thousand satellite terminals being now on their way to dealers and customers. Terminals are purchased both from GSS and directly from the manufacturer.

Direct sales of Ka-band services to end users, carried out by GSS as a service provider, also confirm an upward trend for satellite broadband demand. The number of connections is gradually increasing.

Special activity of consumers is noted in Eastern Siberia and Moscow region. In the Far East, there is also a significant increase in demand for such services being mainly offered by GSS in Ku-band on Yamal-300K, the “easternmost” communications satellite of the Russian orbital constellation.

Gazprom Space Systems believes that the current difficult epidemiological situation in the country leads to a rethinking of the role of satellite information and communication technologies in the economy and society and their advantages in speed of deployment and availability of satellite signal coverage anywhere in the country.

Remote work, distance education and telemedicine comprise now an integral need of our live. And often only satellite broadband technologies can fastest possible provide the population and enterprises with high-quality and low-cost Internet.
